Fall Wedding at the JC Raulston Arboretum

There’s a lot to be said about messaging. When it’s on point you attract people who you want to be surrounded by and that couldn’t have been more evident at Courtney and Bill’s intimate fall wedding at the JC Raulston Arboretum.

I would be lying if I said I haven’t talked about this beautiful October weather literally every day of October. The summer was so oppressive and I’ve always been a teacher during the nice weather so I am thoroughly enjoying myself. The fall weather really showed out for Courtney and Bill’s gorgeous fall wedding at the JC Raulston Arboretum – there is seriously no better place to spend a gorgeous day!

Courtney and Bill picked a beautiful location for their wedding. A fall wedding at the JC Raulston Arboretum is absolutely stunning. We met at the rose garden for the ceremony and it was so so beautiful. There’s so many diverse and lush areas to sneak a few photos and explore some really stunning flowers and greenery.

Courtney and Bill met in college in 2009 and were together 8 years before they decided to get engaged. They finally decided after buying a house and navigating a pandemic that it was time to finally tie the knot!

Reception at the Aviator

When it came to celebrating with a wedding reception Courtney and Bill narrowed it down to the Aviator Smokehouse in Fuquay Varina. Aviator more or less owns every corner by the railroad tracks and I absolutely loved the vibe for their laid back and intimate wedding. I was giddy when they told me this was their reception space – it’s Pumpkinbeast season and I highly recommend it with the cinnamon sugar rim!

A few of my favorite moments –

• Bill smiled all day and that joy was so obviously infectious. The way Courtney smiled back and how he made her laugh was stuff of wedding photographer dreams.
• I loved their intimate ceremony and their desire to do whatever felt good. At one point I heard “are we doing this right?” My response was it’s your day – do WHATEVER feels right. They walked each other down the aisle and it was so happy and relaxing!
• Strolling around downtown Fuquay Varina – this is where we live and I love the vibe and energy of the area. We got some really sweet candids and portraits just wandering around downtown!
• Their reception was a total blast! The team and bartending at the Aviator ensured that everyone enjoyed themselves and just multiplied the joy of the day!

It was an absolute pleasure to spend the afternoon with Courtney and Bill and their joyous little crowd. The day was full of fun, romantic moments that we could all use a little more of – here is just a smattering of this beautiful day!
