Erin & Garet’s Wedding Weekend!

Oh my gosh – I don’t even know where to begin with this awesome weekend! Erin and Garet celebrated their wedding at McGuire’s Millrace Farm in Murphy, North Carolina. This was my first time to the venue and also my first trip to the mountains – and let me tell you – it did NOT disappoint. Since I am based in Raleigh I made the six hour trip out the Friday morning and got in to photograph their rehearsal dinner. The rain threatened us most of Friday but it was clear skies and smooth sailing on Saturday!

Wedding at McGuire’s Millrace Farm

McGuire’s Millrace Farm is a family owned farm and event venue in Murphy, North Carolina. I was blown away by this venue! The reception was held in the barn space which I think is more akin to a luxury mountain lodge than a barn! Additionally, the farm has a guest lodge on site to enjoy an entire weekend stay! I love the idea of celebrating your wedding for an entire weekend and not having to hop from space to space. This venue truly felt like a one-stop-shop! Not to mention the VIEWS – my goodness every area and spot was more stunning than the last!

The coordination, catering, and florals are all handled by the venue and family as well! The care and attention to detail behind every facet of the day was flawless – it was an absolute pleasure to work with this level of professionalism on a wedding day! Not to mention the FLORALS. If you have been around for any length of time you know I love me some florals and when Amanda (1 of 3 Amanda’s for the weekend) opened her floral fridges for me to pick for details I was in heaven. Just wait until you see the details!

I cannot believe I can even narrow down any favorites from this day because it was that amazing but here we go:

• The details – I mean always with the details right? The cohesiveness of every detail came together so spectacularly. I joked about how “on brand” the details of this day were – because green is a huge element of my branding AND my favorite color. Naturally – I loved Erin’s choice of emerald green for all of her accents and florals! Wait until you see the ring!
• First looks are always a favorite part of my day. We arranged their first look in the rows of beautiful birches and I loved how excited they were to see each other!
• Spending the entire weekend celebrating with their friends and family was definitely one of my favorite parts of the weekend. I don’t always get the opportunity to really engage with guests and family. Having been acquainted at the rehearsal was such a great way to connect! More rehearsal dinner photography please!
• Portraits in the mountains. That is all – wait until you see the amazing spot coordinator Natalie took us to for golden hour portraits. (Natalie is the best by the way – I can’t say enough good things about her and her family!)
