This shoot is so special to me because it was the first engagement portrait session I ever booked! Bass Lake Park in Holly Springs is one of my favorite Wake County engagement session spots! There is so much variety when you choose a Bass Lake Park engagement session! I spent the last few hours of the day and one of the last warm days of fall exploring the trails around the lake and soaking in the best fall foliage North Carolina has had in years with Kaitlyn and James. Seriously – in the seven years I have lived in North Carolina this was the most beautiful leaf-peeping season!

I can be so tricky to find time in your busy schedule for an engagement session in the midst of wedding planning – but then add graduate school on top of that and that is what my friends Kaitlyn and James are juggling! From their meeting at the University of New Hampshire in their undergraduate to their current rigorous masters and doctorate programs at different schools including NC State – these two are ambitious and hustling for their big goals. I love seeing how supportive they are of one another as they navigate school, distance, traveling, and hello – wedding planning! They are clearly having a great time doing ALL the things and their level of fun was so infectious! I had a blast with these two and it really shows!
